Deep Fried Mars Bar

Fear not, if you are feeling brave enough we are proud to present a recipe guaranteed to set your taste-buds tingling and your arteries hardening.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Cold water
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking powder
  • 4 Mars or other caramel covered candy bars
  • Shortening or oil for frying

Method

1) Mix flour, salt, and water until smooth, cover, and let stand at room temperature 20 to 30 minutes.

2) Stir baking powder into batter.

3) Place shortening or oil in a deep fat fryer, insert thermometer, and begin heating over high heat.

4) Dip candy bars into batter, allowing excess to drain off.

5) Fry in 375 degree fat until golden and crisp.

6) Drain on paper toweling.

As well as the traditional Mars Bar just about any other Chocolate Candy Bar may be deep fried this way. The other popular choices include Bounty Bars, Twix Bars, Snickers Bars and even Creme Eggs.
